Help underinsured and low-income Eastern Iowans get the healthcare they need by volunteering at Community Health Free Clinic in Cedar Rapids. Volunteers are essential to our clinic. We help thousands of people each year—and we couldn’t do it without our many volunteers.

Opportunities for Health Professionals

Use your medical training and expertise to help people get basic care. We need your skills whether you’re a:

  • Dentist

  • Doctor (MD or DO)

  • Emergency medical technician (EMT)

  • Nurse (RN or LPN)

  • Nurse practitioner (ARNP)

  • Physician assistant (PA)

  • Optometrist

  • Pharmacist

  • Pharmacy tech

Opportunities for Community Members

You don’t need medical training to volunteer at Community Health Free Clinic. We need volunteers with a wide variety of skills to help us keep our clinic running. Examples of nonclinical volunteer roles include:

  • Building maintenance

  • Clerical/data entry

  • Front desk staff

  • Fundraising

  • Interpretation and translation

  • Prescription assistance program volunteer
